3 Creative Halloween Costumes Perfect for Your Natural Curls

Who said that the kiddos get to have all the fun for Halloween??

Halloween is the perfect time to dress up and doll up as your favorite characters, artists, and other spooky legends.

Usually, it’s our Mini Mixers and kiddos that get to change into adorable versions of their favorite icon, but adult curls deserve to have some fun too!

The best part is this: you don’t even have to alter your hair texture to get into the Halloween spirit.

There are plenty of costume ideas that are centered around natural hair, so you don’t have to change a thing about your curls. (Except for maybe the color…)

Need some help figuring out your perfect Halloween costume? These picks will highlight your curls in all of their glory:

Ms. Frizzle

The Magic School Bus + Your Magic Curls = One Magnificent Costume! When you combine this character’s quirkiness with your curls gorgeous-ness, it makes for one adorable look.

What You’ll Need:

  • Fun-print, purple A-Line dress
  • Clunky red or black platform shoes (or flats, whatever you prefer!)
  • Red temporary hair dye

How to Style Your Curls:

  1. On freshly cleansed and conditioned curls, moisturize your curls using the Pure Avocado Moisturizer.
  2. Use a hair tie to pull your hair up into a loose bun.
  3. Carefully pull a few of your strands out at the front to create faux bangs.
  4. Apply Pure Flaxseed Gel to your strands left out for greater definition.

CurlMix Pro Tip: Be sure to have already added the temporary dye into your curls before you give them a shampoo and condition! After a few more washes, this dye will be rinsed out.

Medusa

With a costume like this, they can’t help but to stare at you and your curls, CurlMixer! Try not to stone them; they’re just stunned with this seductive look.

What You’ll Need

  • Green hair dye
  • Long gown, preferably sparkly
  • Sandals and/or flats (depending on the weather in your respective area)
  • 3 or 4 rubber snakes
  • Gold crown
  • Hair trinkets and charms (Optional)

How to Style Your Curls

  1. On freshly cleansed and conditioned curls, moisturize your curls with the Pure Avocado Moisturizer.
  2. Follow up with using the Pure Flaxseed Gel to define your curls.
  3. If you desire a more sleek look, smooth your curls down and place the gold crown on the front section of your curls to complete the style.
  4. If you desire a more voluminous style, use the Blow Up method with your diffuser to add more volume to your curls.
  5. Afterwards, carefully place the hair trinkets and charms throughout your strands to give an alluring and mystic style.

CurlMix Pro Tip: After you’re ready to wash out your hair dye, be sure to give your curls an extra good cleansing! This is to rid of product build-up or chemicals that may have been left over from both the dye and the hair trinkets/charms.
