New Year, New Hair: Healthy Hair Goals for 2021

Welcome to 2021, CurlMixers!

The beginning of a new year always brings a clean slate. Who else is pretty grateful to have a chance to set new resolutions, intentions, and goals for yourself? Say goodbye to all of those knots and fly-aways of 2020, and say hello to all of the new growth 2021 has to offer!

This year, we’re starting off on the right curl. Literally; we’re talking about #curlgoals! Here are a few healthy hair goals that will ensure your curls are in tip-top shape:

Get to Know Your Curls Better

Take the time to learn everything you can about your curls. We do mean everything: your hair type (ranging from 2A to 4C), porosity (low vs. high), elasticity (how well your hair stretches), and related hair factors. While clean ingredients and products make a huge difference in aiding to your curls, these factors have a significant impact as well.

Ready to learn, but don't know where to start? Check out our resources that will keep your curls covered:

Address Any Problems Sooner Than Later

Hair breakage? Noticeable damage from chemical-treatments or dye? Dull curls? Don’t wait another second on being sad; instead, make your hair glad and seek to remedy these solutions immediately.

This is easier said than done. Oftentimes, when we do realize our curls aren’t up to par, it’s due to damage that can be solved with deep conditioning, extra hydration, or a light trim. In more serious cases...this can include a heavier cut.

Before you clutch your curls, hear us out! Many of our personal hair goals involve reaching and maintaining desirable inches, but remember this golden rule: health over length. The sooner you cut off anything that’s stumping your growth, the better your curls can go back to flourishing!

Make Wash Day Your Best Day

Naturals everywhere know how daunting of a task wash day can be. We totally get it, Curlfriend! Fortunately, we’ve come up with a system that will make wash day your best day: our classic Wash + Go style!

Our Wash + Go kits are a CurlMix favorite for a few reasons:

    • They complete the necessary work of cleaning and conditioning your curls (Steps 1 + 2)
    • They enhance your curls by giving them gorgeous definition and style (Steps 3 +4)
    • They leave your hair smelling delightful from any of our signature scents (Bonus Step: stop and smell the curls!)

A traditional wash day may cause stress to your tresses, but our Wash + Go system is designed to allow you to cater to your curls by focusing on each step thoroughly. For each respective step, we have a phenomenal product that smooths the process along.

My hair changes seasonally, I would like to know how to keep my curls going. In winter, my hair has a thin look. My hair is dry, so, I have been doing deep conditioning which helps. In the spring and summer, my hair looks more texterized, and fuller. So, may I get some feed back, please!
